I think Denver, Colorado could easily be named as our nation’s capitol of cannabis simply for the fact that they were the first to legalize weed for recreational use. However, it looks as if Washington may be trying to give them a run for their money. Literally.
Colorado’s legal pot sales are nothing to scoff at, by any means. In fact, the state pulled in around $126 in retail sales for the month of August, which is their highest to date.
But, the state of Washington has set an even more impressive record by selling the most legal weed in one month anywhere in the nation with roughly $130 in total sales.
Now that’s a lot of pot, people. And a lot of pot people too.
Residents in both states that are 21-years-old or over have the legal right to cultivate their own cannabis garden consisting of up to six plants that are intended for personal consumption. But the stats from the pot sales in both states make it seem as if most people prefer to patronize dispensaries.
